The public is invited to an informal public discussion to meet the new Steilacoom High School principal, Brian Hanson. This session will take place on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, in the Steilacoom High School Commons starting at 6:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m. Any student, parent, or citizen who wants to meet the principal and learn more about his leadership plans are invited to attend.
Mr. Hanson officially starts as the high school principal on July 1, 2012. This spring he has been spent numerous days in the high school working with staff and students to ensure a smooth transition. Mr. Hanson’s experience includes 11 years as a high school English and drama teacher, 3 years as an instructional coach, and 4 years as a secondary assistant principal. His most recent experience is with the Battle Ground School District, near Vancouver, Washington.
“I am honored to have been selected to serve as the Principal of Steilacoom High School. I look forward to getting to know the students, staff, and community. The district and the community it serves will receive the best service and leadership I can provide.” states Mr. Hanson.
