Wind Advisory in effect Sunday night for Western Washington

SPSN ICON - Severe Weather AlertThe National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for all of Western Washington lowlands from 11 p.m. Sunday night until Noon on Monday, Feb. 25.

Forecasters are calling the frontal system that is moving in Sunday “vigorous”. It’s expected to bring windy conditions to the coast and North Interior of Washington Sunday afternoon and tonight.

Windy conditions of 15 to 30 mph will spread across all of Western Washington lowlands along and behind the front late Sunday night and well into Monday, with gusts up to 50 mph overnight.

Winds this strong can break small tree branches and cause local power outages. A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph or gusts of 45 to 57 mph are likely.
