The weather this week might get you dreaming of a white Christmas. The forecast for DuPont and Steilacoom calls for a mix of snow and rain now until Wednesday night, but snow accumulations might melt before they add up to anything.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for a chance of snow showers before 10 a.m., then a chance of rain/snow mix after 4 p.m. Snow accumulation is less than half an inch. The snow level will rise to 500 feet. Tuesday’s high will be near 38 degrees, with a south southwest wind around 9 mph. Tuesday evening, the chance of precipitation increases to 80 percent, with rain and snow mix. The snow level is expected to drop down to 400 feet, with an overnight low around 33 degrees.
On Wednesday, snow is predicted before 10 a.m., but the snow level will rise to 1,200 feet. Wednesday’s high will be near 40 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent.
As far as a white Christmas goes, the long-range forecast says we might have spotty snow showers on Christmas Eve, but Christmas day will bring sunshine – a gift we all need a good dose of.
